- Once land-filled, in about five years, the active antimicrobial molecule will break down into the common carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and silicon dioxide (sand or quartz) from which it was derived.
Triton’s technology addresses the two main ecological hazards associated with “leaching” antimicrobials: bleeding toxins into the environment and organisms developing the ability to mutate (and become superbugs). Because the durable antimicrobial product used by Triton relies on a mechanical process to disable microbes, it dispels any concerns about the treatment causing more harm than good.
